Siobhan and Eric tied the knot on January 7th, 2012, during a classic winter-themed ceremony at the magnificent St. Mary’s Catholic Church in downtown Albany. Family, friends and guests for all over the world continued the wedding celebration of this unique couple at the Fort Orange Club on Washington Avenue. Opened in July of 1880, the club exudes its very rich history … the perfect backdrop for Siobhan’s incredible style and a nod to her family’s long history in Albany. She is a jewelry designer and her family owns The Ginger Man and Washington Tavern, which were favorite haunts of mine when I lived in the City of Albany.
The first day I met her, I loved her. Siobhan had a collection of mercury glass items and winter decor that she wanted incorporated into the design of the event. We combined delicate spring blooms imported from Holland to our signature mercury glass bowls then added crushed silver satin linens to finish the look. On the fireplace in the west lounge, we placed dozens of floating candles in holders wrapped in velvet and silver ribbon to create a warm glow for the cocktail hour and later for dancing in the evening.
Siobhan carried a bouquet of lily-of-the-valley and a few other spring blossoms. Her attendants carried fur hand muffs that she had made for the occasion, which added a perfect touch to her winter theme.
Check out the sweet little favors she and Eric gave their guests and the awesome wedding cake, a fruit cake! It was made in the tradition of Siobhan’s Irish heritage. Not a wedding standard in the U.S., but so much fun for an early January wedding.
CONGRATULATIONS SIOBHAN AND ERIC!
