The State Room is such a pretty space in the heart of downtown Albany. I have to say, in all my years of business, I have never been in the room. As part of their package, the location has a list of smaller florists that work there on a regular basis. Though we are not on the list, Nicole came to see me wanting the Renaissance “Wow!” for her guests. She loves the look of our big, full arrangements, and the fact that we have a huge selection of props … furniture, linens, and a rediculous amount of cool elements, that separate us from even the best Manhattan based designers.
THE DESIGN
Yellow roses were always a favorite family flower that Nicole wanted to have as part of her day. We decided to use them in a subtle, not overwhelming way. She loved the look of our crystal stands topped with mounds of flowers that we normally pair with lush, lower round arrangements. The State Room uses oblong tables, which leaves little space for design (these are usually used when you’re trying to fit a larger numbers of guests into a smaller space). We made use of some tall arrangements, which were no problem because the base of the stands are small. For the tables with lower arrangements, we prepared two smaller pieces. They were perfect! Not as large as we would normally do, but a pair of them on each table was just right. We added our signature Alice chairs to the sweetheart table for the Renaissance “Royal” treatment.
I have to say, I love this room. It has a deep, dark-wood dance floor, huge columns, beautiful windows and a tin ceiling medallion that is just beautiful. If you’re having a smaller wedding at any of the historic churches in downtown Albany, you should check out this location.
I grabbed a few pics on my way out, but thank God, Nicole has great taste in photographers too. Matt Ramos was there to make this wedding epic with his incredible talent. You will see what I mean when you see the pics of the new Mr. and Mrs.
THANKS AND CONGRATULATIONS!
Congratulations to Nicole and Ryan!
A special shout out to Nicole’s dad, I am now a huge Alpaca fan!
Thank you to the team at The State Room for serving it up, Matt Ramos for being awesome, and Make me Fabulous for making Nicole and her girls glow with perfection.
