LIKE MOTHER, LIKE DAUGHTER …
Kaitlin’s mom, Cathy, and I have known each other for many years. Cathy is the Director of Development for the Teresian House. In addition to her many responsibilities, she is also responsible for the annual Gala . Every year for as long as I can remember, Cathy has given me the pleasure of working with her to style that event. She has also been threatening for years, “wait until Kaitlan gets married …” Well, here we are!
Meeting Kaitlin and working with her on the wedding was just like working with her mom. Nothing short of entertaining from the second she walked into the room … Kaitlin and BIlly were awesome to work with and one of the most fun couples I had this year.
THE DESIGN …
Kaitlin loved classic black and white for her wedding, but she wanted to make sure it was styled just right with a few pops of color and surprises for her guests. We used our black and white wide stripe linens for cocktail hour on the Veranda. I had custom, floor length Pique cloths made for the tables. Our signature hemstitch linen napkins, folded with the menu Kaitlin designed, were set for each guest. Beautiful arrangements of blooms with pale green and pops of pink were designed in mercury glass bowls. The location was Schuyler Meadows Club in Loudonville, NY. Chef Kasha has known Kaitlin for years … and together they created a sumptuous menu that people are still raving about. Pember of Rain or Shine, had the challenging task of setting the tents up at Schuyler Meadows Club, which is not an easy task when you have a ten piece band and 250 guests in a location that normally seats about 175. Pember lined the tent with a chiffon ceiling, hung a crystal chandelier over the head table, and provided the black and white dance floor that is probably still in the recovery room … it took a beating with this crowd!

And as always, to my staff for making sure this wedding had the style that was just right.
