Renaissance Floral Design is known for making it happen. On this one, we really stepped up our game. We love working at Saratoga National; it’s a beautiful location. Sometimes it can be tricky to make certain colors work well in the room because it has such dark tones. The mustard drapes and carpet can sometimes fight with a softer color scheme. Heather wanted lavenders and purples, and we made it work. I loved working with Heather, Mike and Heather’s family over the past two years.
THE ROOM MAKEOVER
We covered the drapes with cream fabric so it blended into the walls, then installed a large, white dance floor in the center of the room with a custom logo for the couple. We tricked out the room with LED lighting and pin spots to illuminate the tables. Seating for 200 guests made the rug disappear. As you can see … another success.
THE FLOWERS
Dutch purple and lavender hydrangea, peonies in shades of pink, blown-open cabbage and spray roses, lavender scilla, stock, lisianthus and cymbidium orchids were combined to give an old-world, Victorian romance style that Heather loved. Our signature crystal stands were topped with mounds of beautiful blooms and 50 feet of vintage crystal chandelier chain dripped from the blossoms on the tables with tall arrangements. The lower table arrangements were designed in vintage French urns with the same blooms to create a lush landscape for guests as they dined.
THE DESIGN
As she approached the alter, Heather walked on a blush-linen runner in a chiffon-lined tent that was embellished with a crystal chandelier. Layers of lilac satin draped the tables that held the Well Wed arrangements we created for the day. The chairs on the aisle had some flair too with layers of French and shear ribbons topped with imported blooms. Mr. & Mrs. had their first dinner as husband and wife sitting in our signature white Alice chairs at a sweetheart table dripping with flowers and silver sequined fabric to make the moment shine.
