Eli & Zack - Fall Farm Wedding

BAREFOOT …

Tracey Buyce had referred me to Eliza and Zack and said I would love them. Oh, she knows me so well! I chatted with Eli on the phone for about an hour, and when we were done, I knew this was going to be fun. All I can remember from that conversation was Eli saying, “I want everyone barefoot in the grass”.

Within a few weeks, they were booked. This dynamic duo lives in Los Angeles, and we spent most of our time on the phone getting the design ball a-rollin’! When we finally had the chance to meet, it was on a windy, wet, cold day in February. We chatted in my office for a bit, and within an hour we were in our cars headed to Cobleskill to check out the site … this cool little farm house, in what seemed like the middle of nowhere. It was loaded with character and in need of some gentle loving … and let me tell you, it got some! A few weeks later, I headed back out to the property with Mike from Clifton Park Rental. We measured the site out and formed a plan for the tents. Two months later, back in the truck with Christine Wheat, Mike, and Connie from Mazzone Catering.

THE DESIGN …

Eli and Zack wanted a  wedding that would forever be classic, casual, and all about the people and love that surrounded them. We used custom made farm tables, and instead of putting a floor in the tent, we left the grass.  Chickens in the yard, children climbing trees, perfect skies above, and laughter that could be heard for miles. I had collected vintage bottles for months for the tables, and Zack’s side of the family worked for months on the house and property.

The bars and logo were made by Eli’s dad. Her mom crafted those perfect cones filled with dried blossoms for the ceremony. As the new Mr. & Mrs. left the aisle, feather light blooms floated through the air. I strapped vintage bottles to twigs for the aisle (per Eli’s request). Not a detail was missed on every inch of the property, yet it appeared as if nothing was fussed over. The table numbers were different states marked with vintage license plates. Each of our hemstitch napkins had a tuft of lavender, and the pie station was built out of tree trunks. All of the flowers at this event were cultivated from local gardeners, and my garden took a hit too … but it was perfect …  “AMORE” was in the air.
