For as long as I can remember I have been involved with NYIB. This is the New York State Museum’s biggest fundraiser for the year which allows Educational Programs like The Museum Club to exist. The program supports a healthy environment during those hours when school has ended but parents are not yet able to be home with their children.
Below is a little snip of what we did this year.[vimeo]https://vimeo.com/120207483[/vimeo]
Our display is in the main lobby. It takes many hours and tons of effort from both the Museum, my staff, and the gracious donation of rental items from Clifton Park Rental to build the space. After touring the storage location for the Museum this year (which is ginormous!), I settled on a milk delivery wagon from Babcock Farms. This wagon has never been on display in the Museum, along with many items connected with New York State’s farm and dairy industry. I gave it a little spin for my favorite audience, the children – hence the nursery rhyme “Old MacDonald…. E I E I O……..”
It is with tremendous thanks that I acknowledge the following. My staff Cathy Gatta, Michael Santora, Cody Swift, Chris Gallione, Lisa Fountain, Tammy D’elia, and Jessica Campese (check out the cheese wheel Jessica made out of roses, so cool) The Museum Staff who are too many to name and some of whom I never even saw. The effort they put forth is overwhelming. The owners of Clifton Park Rental Mike and Kathleen Frodey, plus Nancy, Jack and Matt who helped me get this design on! Clark + Walker Video, Josh THANK YOU!! Without your footage we never would have been able to show the full detail. Full Frame Cinema, Jeffery your editing skills with my time lapse and Josh’s video, what can I say, You’re brilliant and I am so glad to have you in our mix.
There is a $5 adult admission to the event but we encourage you to give as much as you can to support the Museum’s educational programs like The Museum Club. You may also mail your tax deductible donation to The Museum Club at the New York State Museum.
Tons of floral designers, both professional and amateur, exhibit all through the first floor of the Museum. If you would like to participate in next year’s show, please contact Michelle Peters at Ambiance Floral and Events in Loudonville, NY.
Thank you all for watching, supporting and encouraging heathy minds for the youth of New York State.
